July 5th
I'm playing around a bit with this sketch in Photoshop... I may post a colored version later....
July 3rd
On July 3rd my Grandpa was admitted into St. Joseph hospital to have a kidney removed due to cancerous masses found completely surrounding it. It was a long day.
Thankfully my Grandpa is an incredibly strong man and has come through the surgery and recovery with flying colors. They weren't able to get all the cancer however and he will have to undergo some varying degrees of chemotherapy or radiation therapy...
My Grandpa has always been the template for the man I want to be... he's a huge influence on my life and this has been a bit challenging to swallow. I have the utmost faith that his strength and the strength of his family will see him through this though...
.... it also helps that he's able to lay in a hospital bed with a sleep mask that says "Wake me only for Sex or Bowling".... and I don't think he minds all the younger nurses having to take care of him.
June 30th
Lisa and I have been watching a lot of "Lost" lately... catching ourselves up to the most current episodes via DVD or the Online episodes....
I admit, the show's addictive. It's awesomely written and as of the last episode I started watching I noticed one of my favorite comic writers (Brian K. Vaughn) is one of the shows writers.
I've done a few different drawings at random times while watching the show... some characters I doodle look more like their TV counterparts than others.... I think I'll take a stab at doing character based on Benjamin Linus as he's slowly becoming one of my favorite characters.
On a side note, I learned today that the woman who played Ben's mom in the show is his wife in real life.... isn't that a bit twisted?
